Collaboration for Human Rights

The Institute recognises that advancing human-rights education and capacity building requires broad-based collaboration. IHRALS anticipates partnerships with institutions, authorities, organisations and individuals within Nigeria and internationally.

The Institute will seek to work with stakeholders in the judiciary, law enforcement, correctional services, security sector, traditional institutions, government, educational institutions, civil society and the private sector.

Regional and International Partners

IHRALS looks forward to collaborative relationships within the United Nations system, the African Union, ECOWAS and other regional and international bodies whose mandates relate to human-rights education, justice, governance, institutional development and capacity building.

Development and Philanthropic Partners

The Institute anticipates opportunities with organisations including UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, UNESCO, the MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation and other foundations whose priorities align with its mandate.

Domestic Partners and Sponsors

At the domestic level, IHRALS anticipates exploring partnerships with Nigerian foundations, corporate social-responsibility programmes and philanthropic institutions, including the MTN Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation and TY Danjuma Foundation.

Ways to Collaborate

Partnerships may include sponsorship of courses and training programmes, scholarships and fellowships, research support, educational materials, institutional capacity building, joint programmes, community outreach, digital learning initiatives and other collaborative projects.

The Institute welcomes engagement with public institutions, development partners, foundations, corporations, professional associations, civil-society organisations and individuals interested in supporting accessible, practical and sustainable human-rights education.

All prospective partnerships will be pursued in accordance with the Institute's mandate, institutional values, independence and commitment to professional integrity.
