The Human Rights Library is one of the principal knowledge and research initiatives of the Institute for Human Rights and Applied Legal Studies (IHRALS). It is designed as an organised, accessible and continually developing repository of human rights law, jurisprudence, research and policy resources, with particular attention to Nigeria and Africa.

Although the Library will contain international human-rights materials, IHRALS intends to give particular attention to African human-rights law and practice, with a strong focus on the Nigerian human-rights landscape.

The Library complements the work of the Human Rights Implementation Monitoring Centre and Observatories by providing the knowledge base for researching implementation developments, jurisprudential trends and emerging human-rights issues.
